Triple J Farm Kennels is family owned and operated. There are three of us (hince the triple J) , Yvonne, Rick and our daughter Brandi. We do not have any hired workers, we take care of all the dogs and other animals ourselves, and Brandi and I do not work off the farm so we are here 24/7 to keep an eye on things. Every animal on our farm gets personal attention from us everyday.
Rick and I (Yvonne) have had animals all our lives, and of course growing up on farms we always had puppies, kittens and other animals being born on the farm. Rick even bred prize pigs when he was in his teens. Rick and I started showing and breeding dogs about 35 years ago, Chihuahuas. We stopped breeding a few years before Brandi was born, but kept most of our Chihuahuas, because they were after all our pets first. then our breeders. This is still the same with the dogs we have now, members of our family first, breeders second.
Brandi was born into a house full of animals and has always had a tremendous love for all animals. Besides all our dogs and cats, Brandi also has a small flock of cage birds and a herd of rabbits. Also a few guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters and a pet squirrel and I may have left something out. So when we finally moved back into the country in 1999, it was only natural that our animal family would start to grow.
We aquired a small herd of goats, some sheep, a few mini-horses and started breeding antique breeds of poultry. We actually bought our first Pyrenees to protect our poultry (we were being wiped out by raccoons) and we absolutely fell in love with the breed. We already had several rescue dogs (and cats), plus a Dalmatian and a Pomeranian. We love those breeds too. We fell for Border Collies when we rescued an older dog that turned out to be one of the best dogs we have ever had. When we really like a particular animal or breed of animal we just naturally want others to enjoy them too and we just love taking care of baby animals, so we decided to get back into breeding dogs again. We had trouble settling on just one breed though, so we decided to have just a small group of each of the breeds we love.
We have a lot of experience in animal husbandry and our goal is to breed for high quality, healthy puppies with good temperments and conformation that will make a wonderful addition to your family.
We also rescue and rehabilitate dogs and other animals who have been abandoned or mistreated and need a good home and a loving family. Some of our rescue animals have included cage birds, cats & dogs, a few horses and other livestock, and even wild animals. Some of our rescued animals have stayed here at Triple J Farm, while others have eventually gone to new loving families.
Meeka is one of our first rescued dogs, when she first came here at 8 months she had been abused and was fearful. She would bite if she felt threatened but now she is a very loving, trusting girl. She is eight years old now and will stay with us the rest of her life.
We plan our breedings carefully to produce high quality puppies bred to the breed standard as closely as possible. But we do not destroy healthy puppies, like some breeders do, because their color or something else does not match the standard. We also believe it is cruel to remove some part of a healthy puppy for cosmetic reasons, so we do not dock tails, crop ears or remove dew claws.
We try to breed each of our females only once a year, some times less often. Therefore each year we have a limited number of litters available per breed.
We do not have several prices on each puppy based on what you plan to do with the puppy, All puppies are sold with breeding rights unless there is a serious reason why the puppy should not be used for breeding, in which case it will be sold as a pet only and priced accordingly.
We try to carefully match each puppy to it's new family, so that both puppy and new owners have a happy future together.
